Hi, I'm Skip Hoard. I retired in July, 2005 after 27 years with
Stanford University in the Facilities Dept. to a life of  surfing,
photography, and sometimes golfing.

On Tuesday Oct. 4, 2005 I went to Linda Mar Beach with my
new Canon 1D and Tamron 200-500mm lens to take a few
surfing photos. I was approached by several surfers wanting to
know if I had a website where they could see my photos, I didn't.
I visited Linda Mar every day that week and by weeks end I had
so many request I decided to get on the Internet.

In November 2005 I started LindaMarSurfers.com hosted at one
of those free webhosting sites and posted all my photos at another site,
Photoreflect, so people could purchase photos.

Because of the success of LindaMarSurfers I decided to get
everything in one place so In January 2006 I created this site
S&H Photography

From the response I have had since that first week in October it is
obvious to me that many of you would like photos. I have had
many surfers come up to me and say they have been surfing for
over 30 years and don't have a single photo of themselves surfing.
With this in mind it is my intension to make available as many
photos as possible of surfers of all skill levels. On a good day
I may take as many as 400 photos so if you see me shooting
I probably have a shot of you.

I try to visit Linda Mar Beach, Rockaway, and/or Ocean Beach
everyday, except Sunday which is the day for praising and
worshiping my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who has blessed

On November 29th 2005 I purchase a Canon L series 500mm
f4 lens and in 2008 the Canon 40D camera body, professional
equipment to provide the best quality images possible.
